SALVADORIANA, Institut Botànic de Barcelona

Salvadoriana presented a ‘treasure trove’ of scientific heritage in Barcelona that is largely unknown: the cabinet of curiosities created over a period of two and a half centuries by the Salvador family in their pharmacy on Carrer Ample. The exhibition featured display cases containing documents, travel journals, collector’s objects and rare botanical and animal specimens. The highpoint of the exhibition was the full-size recreation of the wunderkammer and the cabinet in which the various generations of Salvadors meticulously classified and archived the natural wonders and secrets.
