“The Cult of Beauty” is an exhibition that explores the evolution of beauty ideals throughout history, examines how aesthetic standards have been constructed, and celebrates the bodies and forms of beauty that have been excluded from the norm. Drawing conceptual inspiration from the folds and tensions inherent in the human body, and using the symbolism of colour, a continuous, organic space has been designed to guide visitors throughout the exhibition.
To enhance the architectural sense of “corporeality”, the corners have been “erased”: in some cases, by introducing curves under tension, and in others, by softening the corners with protruding, velvet-like textile folds that merge seamlessly with the gallery walls.
