SARAVEJO: YOU SHALL NO FORGET, CCCB

The exhibition installation alluded to the state of uncertainty and emergency associated with the humanitarian catastrophe of the Siege of Sarajevo, which lasted for 43 months (1992-1996). In the manner of symbolic barricades, tables from the CCCB were put to new use as a support for the photographs put on display. In the centre of the room, television sets hanging from the ceiling figuratively drew in the space the form of the encircling blockade that the citizens of Sarajevo were subjected to. Within this ‘siege’, visitors were able to see and hear the testimony of a large number of the people who lived through the siege in the city.
