FRIGID FRIDGE, Ana Mir

The fridge has barely changed in form ever since it was first introduced, and its appearance has always been associated with a supposedly hygienic functionality. The Frigid Fridge, the result of an end-of-course project (MA in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins in London) based on Subversive Design, uses the female sex organ as the door to access its interior, where foodstuffs can be. This object, with its shape, is intended to overturn the preconceived idea that the orifices of the female body are associated with dirt.
